What an amazing book.

“Winter was coming and people were going to be cold, especially people people who didn’t have homes because they had fled the fighting in the countries they lived in, or because their houses, sometimes their towns or villages, had been destroyed. We wanted to draw attention to them and raise money to keep them warm.I went to social media and asked people what their memories were of being warm.”

Neil Gaiman put together 12 memories of being warm, collected on social media and made a poem that he gave to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. He then with the help of publishers Bloomsbury turned it into this beautiful book, with illustrations by 12 different artists, each image in orange black and white.

A powerful reminder of how wonderful it is to feel warm and how many people will not have this basic right met this winter. Twelve short tales a testament to the power of love and small acts of kindness a small beacon of hope in a dark world.
