The quality of children’s non-fiction published in the last few years has been incredible. Very occasionally there is a book that doesn’t quite meet this gold standard if that’s the case I’ll let you know and suggest an alternative that does. If you choose carefully you can choose books that will meet your curriculum needs and encourage and foster reading for pleasure. If you need some personal recommendations please Contact Me.
Here is a selection of non-fiction books divided into broad topics. Included in some of the topics are a handful of picture books, because for topics like war and refugees and environmental issue stories can be a powerful way to build empathy and understanding. I’ve also added in a Re-wilding topic inspired by some fantastic middle-grade stories.
