Independent children's bookseller and reading for pleasure advocate
Non-fiction for the Primary School
I have built up an extensive knowledge of non-fiction books in the past 6 years. I have done this by:
Supporting my Readers that Care School Book Club members to build up their collection of high quality books for their classrooms and libraries.
Sharing and chatting about books on bookish twitter (@melissacreate15)
Responding to individual customers requests, and seeking out books to meet their needs.
The quality of children’s non-fiction published in the last decade has been incredible. Very occasionally there is a book that doesn’t quite meet the gold standard. If that’s the case I’ll let you know and suggest an alternative that does. If you choose carefully you can select books that will meet your curriculum needs and encourage reading for pleasure. If you need some personal recommendations please Contact Me.
Here is a collection of tried and tested old favourites, recent titles from some of my favourite non-fiction publishers. If you are particularly interested in non-fiction for KS1 and reception then check out my gallery here.
